WaitEnd ("we", "us", "our") operates the merchant portal at merchant.waitend.in. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our Platform as a Merchant.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of data:

• Account data: name, email address, business name, and role provided at registration.
• Business data: restaurant details, menus, table layouts, and operating hours you configure.
• Transaction data: order history, payments, and payout records.
• Usage data: log files, IP addresses, browser type, and pages visited within the Platform.
• Customer data (on your behalf): queue entries, reservations, and feedback submitted by your customers.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected data to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Platform.
• Process payments and send transactional emails.
• Provide customer support and respond to inquiries.
• Detect fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
• Send product updates and service announcements (you can opt out of marketing emails).
• Comply with legal obligations.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data on the basis of: (a) contract performance — to provide the services you signed up for; (b) legitimate interests — to improve the Platform and prevent fraud; and (c) legal obligation — where required by law.

5. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with:

• Service providers: payment processors, cloud hosting, email delivery, and analytics partners who are contractually bound to protect your data.
• Legal authorities: when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of WaitEnd, its users, or the public.
• Business transfers: in the event of a merger or acquisition, with notice to you.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. After account deletion, data is purged within 30 days except where retention is required by law (e.g. financial records, which are kept for 7 years).

7. Cookies and Tracking

We use session cookies for authentication and preference cookies to remember your theme choice. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser but some Platform features may stop working.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.

9. Security

We use industry-standard encryption (TLS in transit, AES-256 at rest), access controls, and regular security audits. No system is completely secure — please use a strong, unique password and enable two-factor authentication when available.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice at least 14 days before taking effect.
